Our First Cricket Game

On Friday Feb. 23rd, we attended our first cricket game. We watched the Johannesburg Lions and the Cape Town Cobras. After getting a brief overview of the rules, we were ready to watch!

Jayce enjoyed himself for the most part. But since the game lasted a couple hours he did decide it was bedtime!!!

The first video is just a view of the stadium and the second is a quick video of the a Lion's pitch.

The game lasted a little under 4 hours. The rules are very detailed, but the Lions won  by one point with 7 balls remaining. So from my understanding that is a close game.

The Week of 2-13 to 2-18

This was a bit of a busy week for us. We enjoyed several outings. On Tuesday Feb. 14th, we celebrated Valentine's Day at a restaurant near our home called Tasca Do Sol. This was the first time Jayce has been in a high chair in months and was not very happy about it!

They boys enjoying some bread.

Our food!

A family picture!!

Later that week, we had sushi with several of Michael's co-clerks at Tsunami's.

Pooja & Dylan.
She works for the same judge as Michael.

Jayce was entertained by everyone!

Jayce really liked Matt! He was trying to fall asleep on him!

Friday night was pretty normal, we just hung out at the house. Michael took these pictures of  Jayce trying to attack me.

Crawling all over me.

Then going in for some kisses. When I ask him for a kiss he tries to eat my face.

Now pulling my hair.

Pulling on my eyelids!

More hair pulling.

Laughing because I was in pain.

More kisses to make it feel better!

This was the best picture we could get of his nub of a tooth.

On Saturday, we took a drive to Potchefstroom so I could show Michael where I had competed at and stayed before. We chose to have lunch at the restaurant that was next to the hotel and where I had celebrated my win at!

2008
That pizza sure was great since I had been dieting like crazy to weigh my lowest of 121 lbs.

2012
Wow what a difference 3 & 1/2 years makes. From pizza to juice cups!!!

In between Potchefstroom and Johannesburg, is the world's deepest gold mine. It is roughly 7km deep. They don't offer a tour or anything, but we just wanted to see what we could see from outside!

Constitutional Court In Session

Michael has really been enjoying working at the Constitutional Court. We are going to go on a real tour of the Court next weekend, but here are a few pictures of Michael hard at work in the courtroom!

Lion Park & Hartbeespoort Dam

On Saturday Feb. 4th, we visited the Lion Park and Hartbeesport Dam area.  Both of these places I visited in 2008, and was really interested in seeing them again.  We started at the Lion Park. First, we enjoyed being able to get up close and personal with baby lion cubs. It only took Jayce a second to notice the cubs. He really enjoyed reaching out and touching them.

Since the 2008, they added an area to see some meerkats.

Then we headed to the area where you could feed and pet the giraffes.

Jayce was more interested in starring at the giraffe instead of taking a picture!

Next we got in the car to go to the drive through part. It is set up like a mini self drive safari.

While driving through we met a really friendly giraffe. After looking at this picture again it makes it look like the giraffe is riding in this car!

Then he came and got friendly with us and the windshield of our car!

Michael tried petting him, but he wanted to lick Michael instead.

Now this next picture I did not appreciate. Michael was trying to give Jayce a better view of the giraffe by sticking him out the window. Yes we were parked and the giraffe was no longer close to our car, but I guess I just worry about my baby!

Back in the car! Watching the giraffe some more.

Loving his daddy!

After seeing all these animals it was finally time to see the lions! They are kept in their own areas with 1-2 males per area and several females.

Although this lion was enjoying his dinner, he thought the piece the female in the next picture had looked better.

He scared her away.

And took the piece for himself.

They also had a few cheetahs.

Once we finished viewing the lions, we headed to Hartbeespoort Dam.

Near the dam is an African Market. We enjoyed buying more souvenirs and had a late lunch there. Michael had a pork knuckle and I had ribs! It was so much meat that we had enough for lunch the next day!

We visited this market again another weekend. And this picture is from the second time. Jayce was really interested in this guy!!!
