Cape Town on Thursday

After arriving at the Cape Town International Airport, we gathered our bags and hopped into our rental car to head to their wineland.  The area we chose to visit was about an hour away from the city.  Along the way we were really in awe at the mountains that surrounded us! Below are a few pictures we snapped in the car along the route.

Since there are about several townships that house several wineries, we chose to visit the Franschhoek Wine Valley.  The first winery that we stopped at was the Boekenhoutskloof.  They have several lines of wine, including one called Porcupine.  Hence the massive wooden porcupine art.

Their vineyards.

First glasses of many...

Jayce enjoyed the wine tasting too...slept the whole time.

After having our fill at the first stop. We travelled about a little ways down the road to the Holden Manz winery.

Their vineyard.

Yup there are grapes on all those bushes!

Enjoying the mountain view.

Our snack! At this winery alone, we tasted about 8 different wines. Definitely needed the food!!!

Jayce enjoying the grass in the vineyard.

The sun was a little bright for him.

After all the wine tastings, we found our way back to Cape Town and to our hotel. The Bantry Bay Suites were located one block off the waterfront, so once we got ourselves checked in and freshened up we headed our for a walk on their waterfront.

Jayce liked watching the waves crash into the rocks.

We strolled up and down the waterfront, and grabbed a bite to eat at a cafe overlooking the water. We really took our time heading back to the hotel; stopping several times to just sit and watch the water! Once the sun started to set we went back to the hotel for a quick dip in the pool and a good nights rest for the busy day we had planned for Friday!!!
