Cape Town on Saturday

On Saturday, we planned to be beach bums and that is exactly what we did. We went to Llandudo Beach. It was away from the busy beach areas we were staying by.  For a large portion of the morning, we practically had the beach to ourselves, except for the surfers out in the water.

Our view to the left and right from our beach spot.

A mini photo shoot with Jayce.

After a little while the beach got busier, and there was a guy renting out umbrellas.  So we decided to rent one and stay at the beach a little longer. Now we were expecting to pay a large amount like the U.S. to rent the umbrella, but it was less than $4 and the guy even came and set it up for us! Michael was the only one brave enough to get in the water more than his feet, but not for very long! The water was freezing!!! It reminded us, temperature wise, of the streams in Missouri that we go trout fishing at.  Now most of you know that I am in love with my pugs and love pugs in general, well I got really excited because a couple showed up with their pugs, Marley & Layla.  They even came and played with Jayce under our umbrella, but in the end it just made us miss our pugs so much more!!!  Once we were done soaking up the sun we went back to the hotel and showered and dressed to head to Hout Bay.

In the bay, we saw tons of seals just swimming around. They were even drawn to the edge of the water, where some people were feeding them.

Since we spent much of the day at the beach, we had not really had a real meal so grabbed a seat at a restaurant overlooking the bay.

We also indulged in some cocktails!

Smoked Salmon Appitizer

And for our main course, we split a platter. It had shrimp, mussels, calamari, and a yellow tail fillet all covered in a lemon butter sauce on top of rice. The seafood was so fresh!

After we filled our bellies, we were off for one final sightseeing adventure before we had to leave beautiful Cape Town the next morning. We drove over to Kalk Bay. The pictures don't really do this bay justice. It was massive!!! And so were the waves.

We were really sad to have to leave Cape Town. It was definitely an amazing trip. We both have said that if we ever had the opportunity to we would love to go there again. And if at that time anyone else wants to tag along...the more the merrier!!!!
